Then look no futher than at www.dublinsummerleague.com where you can sign up to play an Ultimate Frisbee summer league specifically aimed at beginners.

Simply stick down your name and show up every Monday evening at Herbert Park (10 minutes from the city centre serviced by several buses), Ballsbridge, and run around chasing a frisbee for an hour.

The Benefits and Aim of Ultimate Frisbee:

You get to meet loads of new people (there have been 100 sign ups already) and no one is looking to do more than have fun and enjoy the game.

You'll pick up on the rules very quickly but for a rough guide; imagine a soccer pitch with two rectangles at either end of the pitch, like endzones in American football.

Both teams of 7 players each aim to catch the disc in one of the endzones.

You run around trying to get free for the disc but when you have it in your hands, you're not allowed to move.

You have to pass it in between your team mates and if you drop it or the other team intercepts it then they get to take possession of the disc.

So the game goes until a certain score is reached or time runs out.

It really is that easy and fun to play.
