Irish Heart Foundation - Slí na Sláinte

Sli_na_Slainte

Slí na Sláinte, meaning "Path to Health", is a simple innovative scheme developed by the Irish Heart Foundation to encourage people of all ages and abilities to walk for leisure and good health.

Slí na Sláinte has grown to include a network of almost one hundred and fifty walking routes around the country. Bright colourful signposts mark these walking routes at kilometre intervals. Along with walking routes, the programme has been introduced in ten countries worldwide, expanded indoors to include motivational signs to encourage people to become more active throughout the day, trained a panel of walking leaders to promote and lead walks in their area, and introduced the Slí Challenge to help people calculate their time and distance walked to help them achieve awards when targets are met.
